山田 鉄兵 (YAMADA, Teppei)

Prof. Teppei Yamada was born in the hospital in Chiba prefecture in 1977 although his house was in Toride until his 3-year-old before his move to Matsudo city. After graduation of Higashi Katsushika Highschool, he entered the University of Tokyo, Natural Sciences I in 1997, proceeded to Department of Chemistry in 1999, and Graduate School of Science in 2001. He received his master degree in 2003 under the supervision of Prof. Hiroshi Nishihara. He moved to Mitsubishi Chemical company, and from 2005, he moved to Division of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, Kyushu University as a research associate, and became an assistant professor in 2006. In 2010 he got a doctoral degree (Ph.D. in science, Kyushu University) under supervision of Prof. Hiroshi Kitagawa. From 2010, he moved to Division of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University as an assistant professor again following the move of Prof. Kitagawa. From 2012, He moved back to Kyushu University as an associate professor in Center for Molecular Systems (CMS), concurrently belonged to Division of Applied Chemistry and Biochemistry, Graduate School of Engineering, and work with Prof. Nobuo Kimizuka. From 2014 to 2017, he was concurrently engaged the PRESTO researcher. From 2020, he became a full professor in Division of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, The University of Tokyo and became a PI in Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory.
He received a poster award in 2008 in 1st MOF symposium in Augsburg, Germany, 1st JACI Research Encouragement Award of New Chemical Technology in 2012, JSCC Research Encouragement Award in 2012, The Chemical Society of Japan Award for Young Chemists for 2013, MEXT The Young Scientists’ Prize in 2014, Step-up Award of Japan Association for Chemical Innovation in 2017.
Education
山田鉄兵は２００１年に東京大学理学部化学科無機化学研究室を卒業後、同大学院に進学し、２００３年に修士課程を修了した。
その後２００３年より三菱化学株式会社、科学技術センター電池材料研究所にてリチウム印電池の電解液の研究開発を行った。
２００５年に九州大学 大学院理学研究院化学部門特任助手、２００６年同助手、２００７年同助教を経て
２０１０年より京都大学大学院理学研究科化学専攻助教となった。
２０１２年より九州大学分子システム化学センターおよび大学院工学研究院応用化学部門准教授。
２０２０年より現職の東京大学大学院理学系研究科化学専攻教授となった。
その間、東京大学物性研および分子科学研究所の客員准教授やJSTさきがけ研究員、JSTCREST代表を併任。
主な受賞として第１回新化学技術研究奨励賞および第３回新化学技術ステップアップ賞（新化学技術推進協会）、錯体化学会研究奨励賞（第17回）（錯体化学会）、第62回進歩賞（日本化学会）、文部科学大臣表彰 若手科学者賞（文部科学省）、第18回日本学術振興会賞（日本学術振興会）。
